Plitvice entrances & walking routes
Choose your entrance around the walk you want, then book the matching ticket. A short route done comfortably is more rewarding than a long route rushed.
Entrance 1 or Entrance 2?
Entrance 1 starts the northern approach to the Lower Lakes; Entrance 2 serves the southern approach and routes towards the Upper Lakes. They are separate arrival points, roughly 3 km apart. Check the entrance printed on your ticket before setting off, especially if someone else arranged your transport.
Which route fits your day?
A is a shorter Lower Lakes circuit. C and H offer broader lake coverage from different entrances. Use the comparison below as a starting point, then read the official description. Distance alone does not describe the effort: gradients, steps, queues and time standing all matter.
Leave room between the walk and departure
Treat the published duration as a planning range. Add space for refreshments, photographs and waiting for park transport. If you have a fixed bus departure, choose a route with a generous margin instead of relying on the shortest advertised time.
Check access before committing
Routes may change with weather and maintenance. The official programme page is the authority for closures. A ticket does not guarantee that every path, boat connection or viewpoint will be available. Ask at the entrance if your intended circuit is suitable that day.
